Bird-watching Holidays at Little Comfort Farm
Our idyllic, peaceful valley with its mix of ancient woodland, farmland, lake and stream meadows is a haven for wildlife and particularly for birds.
Watch the dipper feeding in the river and enjoy the siskin and linnets in the trees along the bank whilst enjoying your morning cup of tea.
Careful management of habitat over the years and dedication & commitment to organic farming has seen the birdlife on the farm multiply and diversify, giving guests plenty of opportunity to observe a wide range of species – and all on their doorstep.

Stay in our cosy cottages at any time of the year to enjoy the diverse birdlife that Little Comfort and North Devon has to offer. We’d be delighted to share our knowledge of the species resident on the farm and can advise on good vantage points for observing them. There are plenty of guides and books in the farm office should you wish to borrow them with a selection of OS & walking maps and directions to nearby sites.
With many more opportunities locally for birdwatchers, there really is plenty to see and do for both the keen ornithologist and the amateur: RSPB Reserves, World recognised UNESCO Biosphere, Exmoor, Lundy Island & so much more…
