We invite all resident guests to join us on Tuesday and Saturday mornings for a complimentary nature and farm safari, led by owner, farmer and professional ecologist, Jeremy. These are as much for adults as children, and are a great opportunity to meet us and learn about our farm. The walks vary depending on the season but will include a blend of farm animals and wild nature. The nature walks are a big hit and often the highlight of our guest stays!
Here is a taster of what you might experience:
We try to make the walks as inclusive as possible. If mobility is a concern for you, get in touch. We can do bespoke sessions.
From March through to November we take guests on a midweek dusk adventure to listen in on the world of bats! Little Comfy is home to at least 12 different species, from horseshoes to pipistrelles to a regionally important barbastelle roost. Discover how captivating bats are as we take a sunset bat walk with professional bat equipment to listen in on their world.
From mid February to mid June, we see a mass migration of toads, frogs and newts to Little Comfy. Once the sun goes down we grab high power torches, wellies and introduce you to our friendly little fly catchers – we’ll catch a few for a close look too. From April we combine this with the bat walk.
Suitable for all ages and abilities. Led by Jodie or Jeremy, professional bat and amphibian ecologists.
We’re lucky to work with a fantastic local angling instructor, Christian Cutts-Hammond, who offers fishing lessons at the Little Comfort Farm lake for both adults and children. No experience or equipment is required. You will learn how to thread bait, catch and identify fish, gently and safely remove them from the line and release them back into the water.
A 2 hour session is £90 and can be organised direct with Chris on 07368 394869. We would recommend contacting Chris to book as early as you can to avoid disappointment.
We sell children’s nature activity packs, spotter books and individual ID charts for you to use on our farm nature trails and on beach trips. You’ll find them in The Pantry!
