Little Comfort Farm
A former mill house, granary and cattle barn (byre), Little Comfort Farm’s four stone cottages exude charm with their original stone walls, slate roofs and timber beams that sit harmoniously alongside inviting, bright and contemporary interiors.
All our cottages were part of a huge renovation project to repair, restore and rebuild in the most sustainable way whilst respecting agricultural roots and beautiful original features.
Our project brief was to maximise energy efficiency and embrace high quality, sustainably sourced natural materials. Hand made reclaimed wood and slate kitchens, woodburning stoves, beautiful wet rooms and big triple glazed windows to enjoy the valley views. Each has one or two private enclosed courtyard gardens.
The cottages offer the latest in healthy building design. We avoid plastic, composite or toxic materials and the cottages are a sanctuary for those sensitive to electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs). This has been achieved through design, radial wiring and use of shielded cables. There is a switch in every bedroom to completely de-energise the room! Sleeping on entirely natural, organic beds, wrapped in organic linen, expect to get the best night’s sleep possible.
All our cottages offer something different, whether it’s being wheelchair accessible, dog friendly or perfect for your first family holiday, honeymoon, three generation gathering or yoga retreat!
We’d obviously suggest trying them all, but here’s a guide to help you choose.
Our fifth cottage, ‘The Smithy’ (not listed below) is available to guests who have stayed with us on at least three occasions. The Smithy is a two bedroom cottage sleeping up to four (no dogs allowed). Please contact us if you are interested in staying in The Smithy.
