Assistant Hospitality Manager
A guest facing, pivotal position at Little Comfort Farm assisting with the management of our 5* gold awarded holiday cottages, fishing lake, farm shop and therapy room. A diverse position working alongside Jeremy and Jodie (the owners) to develop the business, that will include managing all aspects of our housekeeping, assisting with front of house, sales and marketing and event management. This is a part time position that is reasonably flexible, with exciting opportunities for career progression and potential for a more full time position in the future based on performance.
What will the role entail?
- Housekeeping
- Managing the work rota for housekeeping staff using rota scheduling app
- Co-ordinate housekeeping on changeover days
- Cottage cleaning completion checks
- Oversee laundry including collection and delivery from off site laundry and in house laundry by housekeeping staff
- Monitor stocks of cleaning materials/tools and re-order or advise owners when running low
- Oversee and maintain laundry to ensure it is tidy and ordered
- On occasion working alongside housekeeping staff to ensure methods and standards are consistent and efficient.
Guests
- Respond to guest enquiries via email and phone
- On occasion, meet and assist arriving/departing guests
- On occasion assist with morning mini farm experience with guests
- Pre-arrival guest communication
- Use of booking system software
Health and Safety and Accessibility
Help to create and maintain:
- Accessibility guides
- fire risk assessment
- general health and safety procedures and risk assessments for guests and staff
Sales, Marketing and Events
- Manage mailing lists
- Prepare mailshots as directed regarding news, offers and last minute availability
- Assist with social media management (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter)
- Event management and advertising. This is an area that, based on your experience and skills, could become a significant part of the position.
Other
- Assist with shop, taking and packing orders and in situ purchases
- Assist with therapy room bookings
- Assist with fishermen enquiries and fishing info and logistics
- Help keep Point of Sale (POS) software and online shop up to date
Key Skills Required
- Computer literate, (advantageous if familiar with apple macs)
- Proficient user of Word and Excel, Mail/Outlook, facebook, Instagram and twitter
- Ability to quickly learn about and navigate other important software and apps that may be new to you, including booking, point of sale and rota scheduling software
- Excellent telephone manner
- Strong people and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, good at prioritising and stay calm under pressure
- Highly organised
- Meticulous attention to detail
- A passion for the environment and sustainability
Highly Desirable
- Experience of housekeeping and hospitality at 5* standard
- Previous housekeeping training qualification
- Health and safety qualifications
- Particular skills and interests that would enable you to contribute towards and help deliver our nature discovery sessions

Hours and Pay
- The position will commence immediately
- It is a part time position but with considerable opportunity to increase hours dependent on performance and skills
- Ability to work flexible hours as and when needed, although keys days are Mondays and/or Fridays (working up to 7.5 hours on any one day) with additional days inbetween (dictated by bookings)
- We would anticipate initially being able to offer at least 15 hours a week, to be reviewed after 6 months (or before).
- You will initially work for Little Comfort Farm as a sub-contractor, but we would look to employ you after a short probationary period
- Pay dependant upon experience
